Frequently Asked Questions
Are my bank statements uploaded to any server?
No. All PDF text and coordinate parsing runs 100% locally inside your web browser’s JavaScript memory using pdfjs-dist. No financial statement, account number, or balance ever leaves your computer.
Do the 20-Statement Backfill Pass credits expire?
No. Your 20 credits are stored in your account and never expire. You can use 6 credits today to reconcile 6 months of statements, and use the remaining 14 credits next year.
How do I import the resulting CSV into Monarch Money?
In Monarch Web, navigate to Accounts → [Select Account] → Edit → Import transactions and drop the downloaded monarch_missing_backfill.csv. Because it uses Monarch-compatible column headers and exact negative/positive sign conventions, all missing transactions will be added with zero duplicates.
When uploading the Sign-Fix CSV (monarch_transaction_id_sign_fix.csv), make sure to check the box “Use transaction IDs to match transactions” so Monarch updates the debit/credit polarity on existing rows in place without creating duplicate entries.
